When it comes to food, Coron is expensive. One of the reasons is that locals import a lot of their ingredients from another province, Mindoro. Another reason might be that those who visit the town are mostly tourists, hence the higher prices.

The price of a meal at restaurants is around P150 to P400, depending on where you eat. The P150 meal is a variety of a cup of rice and one viand. If you want pasta, it’s normally around P250, grilled food costs about P200, and a fruit shake can be quite pricey, up to P120.

For those who are on a budget or aren’t picky eaters, there are carinderias (small eateries) that offer cheap food. However, you might have a difficult time finding these places. You can still some offering silog meals for about P100 or cheaper. Some curbside stands sell barbeques for around P10 to P25 a stick.

On our most recent trip, we tried different restaurants around Coron town; however, we found a lot of them too pricey for what we got. There are some exceptions, which are:

Kawayanan Grill Station. The Seafood Platter costs around P450, and 2-3 people can share.
KT’s Sinugba sa Balai. The taste is so-so; however, you get a big serving and prices are reasonable.
Carl’s BBQ. Get the Baby Back Ribs; a full slab is P520, and half of one is P350. Good value for money because of the big serving.
La Morena Cafe. We tried their seafood pasta and melon shake, both were exquisite and we would have them again.
La Sirenetta. Kinilaw na Tuna.

Other than La Morena, you can try other coffee places such as Fika Indulgence and Coffee Kong. All of them offer good drinks and desserts for visitors looking to relax and enjoy the rest of their day after touring.

Many locals recommend Amigos’ Smokes and Grill and Santino’s Grill; however, we were unable to try their food and drinks because they were closed.

Important Reminder! Many cafes and restaurants in town follow opening and closing times which are 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for lunch and 6:00 PM onwards for dinner. If you want to get a snack or eat late lunch, you’ll have fewer choices outside these hours.
