The Calamianes consists of a handful of municipalities; one of which is Coron. These islands dot the rich and vibrant waters of Northern Palawan. Busuanga is the biggest and has two municipalities which are Busuanga and Coron. The latter is the center of tourism of the surrounding areas. This is where visitors will find more choices for hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and tour operators.

Coron is the usual jump-off point for island hopping tours in the region. Its position as North Palawan’s tourism hub led many to believe that destinations in Calamianes are in ‘Coron’ even when some of these are already part of other municipalities. To illustrate this point, Calauit and Black Island are located in Busuanga, but some visitors think both are in Coron. Culion Town is also often thought to be in Coron, even when it is part of another municipality already.

After your first visit, you’ll keep coming back for more; even if you’ve done most of the tours before, you’d want to visit them again and again. The lagoons have some of the clearest waters in the country. The limestone formations that tower over the attractions add a touch of rawness to a beautiful beachscape. The shores have fine, bone, white sand that fits perfectly between your toes.

The cerulean, glass-like waters hold vibrant and colorful underwater ecosystems that are diverse and beautiful. Diving provides you with an up-close look at different colored fish of varying sizes and species. The corals take on various shapes from brains to tables to flowers; the only limit to what you’ll see is your imagination. You don’t have to dive to see these, some attractions have snorkeling sites that provide you with similar views.
