The airport has finally been inaugurated May of this year. There have been rumors of an airport opening for years now, and it has finally pushed through. PAL Express (Philippine Airlines’ subsidiary) is now promoting flights from Clark. Operations will start on October 28. The supposed flight departs at around 7 am daily with the trip taking approximately an hour and 40 minutes.

Since the flights have yet to commence, the directions to get to it and out is not yet fully set; it’s still in progress. Checking the map, it’s not far from the town. It’s safe to assume that you can charter a motorcycle or tricycle to get in and out.

The usual option (for now) is to get a flight to Puerto Princesa. If you choose this route, you’ll have to travel by land for about five hours. The city is a major hub of the province. Major local airlines have multiple flights every day.

Puerto Princesa to San Vicente

A couple of years ago, the trip from Puerto Princesa to San Vicente is quite a bumpy ride. It’s not just uncomfortable, it also takes approximately five hours. The road conditions get even worse during the wet season as dirt becomes mud. However, fast forward to today, the roads are better, and the trip smoother and shorter.

By Bus

The buses that depart from San Vicente leave from San Jose Terminal so you have to get to the latter first.

  1. From the Puerto Princesa airport, go to the gate and look for a tricycle driver. Tell him to take you to the San Jose terminal. The fare is about P120 per ride, NOT per person. You’ll save money if you wait for other passengers or if you’re part of a group. You can also take the jeep and then take the tricycle. This is cheaper but a bit of a hassle, especially if you’re carrying a lot of bags.

  2. At the terminal, board the bus going to San Vicente. You only have two chances, the first one departs at around 6 am and another at 1 pm. Check the destination before boarding and paying the fare; you might accidentally board the one bound for Port Barton. The trip takes about five hours and costs P200.

    By Van

Taking the van is your fastest option as it takes just around four hours. Many vans ply the San Vicente route from as early as 4 am until late afternoon at about 5 pm. This costs around P300. Here are possible options:
