This guide focuses on the areas of the Poblacion and Long Beach. If you are interested in going to Port Barton, also located in San Vicente, we created a different post specifically for it here: Port Barton Travel Guide.

San Vicente is a municipality that is between Puerto Princesa City and El Nido. Many tourists don’t bother going here, heading straight to El Nido. Approximately only 8,500 visitors visited in 2012 – that’s according to the local tourism office. That number is easily dwarfed by its more famous counterparts to its north and south. With the new airport, many say that its number of visitors will skyrocket by next year.

With the current developments taking place in this once quaint town, tourism is going to boom for sure. If you are planning a trip to this beach, now’s the best time to push through before its popularity soars.

The two major destinations are Port Barton and the Poblacion area. The latter is near one part of Long Beach. The beach then stretches to other Barangays namely Alimangoan, New Agutaya, and San Isidro.

One common misconception about Port Barton is that people think it is another town, BUT it is actually a part of San Vicente – one of its barangays in fact. The confusion arises because when a local mentions San Vicente, they often think of the town near Long Beach. However, Port Barton is still a couple of hours away.

Despite its beauty, San Vicente is more popular with European travelers than Filipinos. It must be because of its remoteness and rawness. This means that its peak season (relatively speaking) is the winter months in Europe, namely December to February.
